“You know… I think I prefer the Spielberg movie about dinosaurs rather than this park,” I note.
“Really? We’ve been here a few times and you always seem so intrigued. You even take notes.”
“It truly is fascinating. But it makes me wonder… I feel badly for the dinosaurs trapped in the fictional park. Hell, I even call the people in JPBMIF ‘dinosaurs’ as a joke. It’s just that we now have access to Earth’s art. They brought over great literature, great movies, great television shows, beautiful art. It makes me wonder how some of the universe’s most intelligent and creative people could exist on a planet plagued with corruption and evil.”
“Stacy, this is too heavy of a discussion for people who woke up at 6 a.m. on a Saturday.”
I don’t say much on the car ride home. I am stuck in my head. I ponder the ethical nature of what we had been doing and experiencing, and about the other humans that didn’t end up in the exhibit. The government never told us where they went. Where was Earth’s government now? They could’ve killed them. Maybe they didn’t have value and, despite not being evil, maybe they were perceived as a threat. I start to wonder if we are any better than they were. Perhaps the name of the park is silly because it was covering up a much larger and darker universe.
